Saturday Night Fever

Good morning new world!!

Today one of my best friends graduates from Zayed University. I'm so proud of her, she really is everything to me!

 


I see that a part of the graduation means "The End" and the other part means "A New Beginning". I am the kind of person who sees the glass as half full; the world is full of opportunities, you just ought to learn to grab on to them rather than telling yourself "Maybe there's something bigger for me out there."

Start somewhere and that will open up a whole new path for you.

Today we got a puppy home for my elder sister to take to her house in Abu Dhabi (1.5 hours away from my house) but I'm already so attached to him because he was suppose to be mine. It's so hard to give away a pet you fell in love with to a family who has 4 kids around, I worry they won't take care of him well. I hope nothing happens to him while he's there. I know my sister can take care of him but I'm not sure about the kids.

Breakfast At Tiffany's

Thursday mornings I head to a friend's house on my way to uni for breakfast. Every week she serves different recipes of scrambled eggs accompanied with coffee and today we had a side dish of pudding. That is a very lovely way to start a day before going to classes or work for that matter.

Changing the way you wake up makes a difference to how the rest of your day will be. I always look forward to Thursdays. I should change the other 6 days of the week's mornings..

Ideas:
Set alarm to a radio station, have the nanny open the curtains, have a friend to be the alarm, an early movie.. What else?

The Secret Passage

Yesterday a few friends and I watched a 3D animation Sammy's Adventures: The Secret Passage. It's about a sea turtle as he navigates his 50 year life through the changes caused by global warming. He travels around the world and while he's at it he searches for his lifetime mate: Shelly.

The movie made me want to make a difference to the sea world. Before you throw something in the ocean think of all the marine lives you would be ruining and poisoning.
Do not waste items such as plastic bags, cans, bottles, toxic liquids... Or anything else for that matter.
If you watch this animation you will know what I'm talking about.

Lost In Inspiration

I need a constant inspiration to keep me blogging. I love to write and this is a perfect place to do what I do.
If you can help me find something to inspire me everyday, please do.

Anyhow, I've been watching Cougar Town all day today. It's a must watch show, starring Courtney Cox. In it she's a 40+ year old single mother who lives with her teenager son. In the show, Courtney only dates younger men.
The reason why the show is named Cougar Town is because cougar is an animal from the lion/tiger family where the female enjoys mating with younger cougars.
So far there are only 2 seasons out, each episode is approximately 20 minutes, you can finish a whole season in 1 night. Tomorrow (January 12 2010) they will be airing s02e12.

Lucky

I'm lucky that I live in a beautiful and developed city like Dubai, the weather today made it extra beautiful!

Well, I live in Sharjah but I'm only here if I'm home to rest or sleep, otherwise I'm in Dubai ALL the time.

So I found a song that's perfect for this weather, I can imagine myself driving in this weather with my windows down and music up.

Baby Steps

It's a beautiful day here in the U.A.E.

One of my best friends is stuck at work today for the 1st time in the 3 months she's been working.
I'm barely ever home (even on weekdays) and last night, out of all of the days, I decided to stay home today.


I guess everything happens for a reason and today I decided to stay home and blog; to get some ideas and inspirations. The first few blogs I've written were pretty short and/or not interesting. Just give me some time to get a hang of this and I promise you won't regret it!

I've read on my Twitter timeline and on my BBM that the weather is great!! I listen to Virgin Radio Dubai every morning on my way to uni. The weather forecast is announced by just using 5 words, so I do this thing too on Twitter and tell my followers Dubai's 5 word weather forecast. Today I say:

I enjoy writing poetry but I haven't found any inspirations recently. Instead I... My God! What DO I do?

Oooooooh!! My life is pretty boring now that it's been thought through long and hard, I don't even want to blog about it :)

Anyhow so let me tell you more about me, I'm 20 years old.
I live with 6 people and 2 dogs.
I used to hate shopping and now I can't get enough.
I enjoy movies with twisted endings like The Butterfly Effect and Chicago.
I love the beach but I hate what lives in it.
I MISS good food and delicious dessert but unfortunately I'm on a strict diet (for almost 7 months now).
I'm more of a chilled back person rather than a party animal; movies night in pulls my attention more than a party night out (sometimes it depends on my mood).
I believe I have OCD and ADD, once I'm officially sure I'll blog about it again.
My favorite animal: Cats. My favorite color: All colors. My favorite number: 7.

There's a 1st time for everything

Hey, so here goes my first blog.


In these blogs you will know more about me or you can start getting to know me. I am open about how I feel and open about how you feel.


This is new to me so I'll start with my day.


Monday, nobody loves Monday's but I learned to love each day as it comes.


I love spontaneous outings and today a friend of mine and I went to watch Burlesque... AGAIN.
An ear popping, mind blowing, jaw dropping movie, starring Christina Aguilera and Cher; recommended for all: male, female, old, young (well, not too young) and for the blind too!!
The only advice I'll leave you with is: DO NOT watch that movie with your partner, spouse or parents.. It's a movie where you'll want to squeeze your friend's hand and drool!!

The movie was so good, I couldn't sit in my chair, dancing, singing along and taking pictures of the screen (Oops! Copyrights? Oh well!!) The only time I left was when Cher went solo. I suffered through that the first time, I didn't have to go through it again. This movie is highly recommended if you enjoyed Chicago. If you never watched THAT movie either, what are you waiting for?!
